72 bug she's back

Wish my 70s Bug was a patch on how solid this one is!

Yes mate she going back the only way a 70's bug should be...
She's not to rotten but does need abit of welding

Jesus that made me laugh, I just read it as I took a mouth full of tea and nearly sprayed it all over my keyboard.

I did notice the change in signature...................both amusing and hopefully less provocative!!

I must also add that I was always a fan of pre 67 cars, but after seeing 1584's car at Sandown I am starting to dig on late models too.

And marks bug is one of the reasons mine going back to rights it's a wicked car.. And a nice little pic of it in this months Volksworld

I can say it was entertaining seeing behind the 'scenes' at the Volksworld show. You just can't take it too seriously. I know I don't.

Anyway, your car looked cool at the show and that is a nice piccie in the mag dude.

This is the sort of plan at the moment

Complete strip down.
Get the floor, body edges, suspension and engine tin sand blasted.
1500 or GT box.
Keeping the the same motor but will get a couple of little mods.
All new brakes, steering and suspension.
All new rubbers.
All new interior.
All new chrome.
Mag industry, gas burners or something along those lines.
Narrowed beam.
Paint the floor, suspension, and tin in 2K black..
Paint the body in the OG 2K metalic blue .
Upright 70's wings, lights and rear panel.
Europa bumpers.
Narrowed adjustable with drop spindles and disk.

And what ever repairs need doing. Off the top of my head..

Both heater channel bottom plates. Due to the body being welded to the floor.
Rear section of the drivers heater channel.
Drivers inner front arch.
Pair of doors.
Spare wheel well.
Rear panel.
Not sure about the floor pans but i think they're pretty good.

That little lot should keep me going for a couple days

But due to the little probs with the council i'm not gonna be get to carried away on the drive so currently looking for a good sized unit so i can get the bug and bus done properly inside and take my time doing them..

I would do a bot of research on that score Rich, surely if you are not doing it as a business there is fercl all they can do?
Obviously if you out there gringding till 10:00 at night then people are going to get chaffed off but.......I did have a quick look on the web but couldn't find the rules and regs...

If i carry on working on them on the drive i'll get a complete ban (ASBO) type thing so will be totally buggered whats the point when i can get a unit and do things RIGHT without rushing on the drive hoping it's not gona rain or anything ... I'll be 100% happy that what i'm doing is gonna be the best i can do and none of this half hearted sh1t i've been doing cos it just winds me up big no doing things how they should be...

All I can say Rich is that if you think your current standard of work is substandard then if you can really take your time in a unit then you will be able to turn out some really high quality Dubs!!!

Cheers dude... All me and Frizz keep saying is how sh1t they really are, if i'm inside i'm 80% sure that they will be 100 times better then what i'm doing now. But that may not be the case i'm sure will find out soon enough.

Well as i said i've got a unit now and the bug went in BUT it's back out again cos Carl needs a car to use due to being screwed over with the bay..

So the resto is on hold but gives me chance to hoard some more bits for her..
