Right then, we sprayed the Gold Metal flake last night and soooo pleased about the way it has come out. Unfotunately the photos dont show the flake in the paint... must be the way the light reflects of it or something. Sad

But you can kind of make it out i guess....

Still needs another coat of laquer as you can feel the flake when running your hands on it.

Nice one dude , ....I put about 6 coats of laquer over flake last time i sprayed it ,to stop the 'feel' of the flake .....but you need to let it dry first or the flake will surface.

Well dad flatted it back last night and applied the last coat of clear coat. Its so much nicer now and cant 'feel' the flake in the paint anymore. Well pleased. Very Happy
Managed to get a price on a fuel sender from GSF carparts... £29+vat which isnt too bad. Just need to find some time to pick one up from them, the bonnet can then be fitted, along with the windscreen and dash reassembled. The Wheels are next to get the paint treatment.

If you want me to just send me a text, it's no hassle to drop down through Brizzle instead of doing the M5.
If I'm coming down through Bristol I will be on the A370 etc anyway.
The offer's there fella.

Fitted the Mini Filler cap

1969 Empi Imp - Page 2 Picture206

and also the Chrome lights were really badly pitted so i managed to convince dad to lose the chrome as they never stay looking nice for long... so they got finished in Satin black

1969 Empi Imp - Page 2 Picture205

A while ago a guy posted on here asking who owned the Empi Imp, so i got in contact with him and he is another Imp owner in the UK, he had some re-production metal Empi Imp badges that are identical to originals which are basially impossible to get hold of, so we bought them from him.

Fitted badges and number plate

1969 Empi Imp - Page 2 Picture207

started sorting the wiring and made a fusebox

Basically i want 'all red' rear lights but am wondering how i can make the indicators flash orange. Normally i woulnt care about this but as dad will be driving the buggy aswell i dont want him getting pulled by the poo poo too often.
Does anybody know if the old green bulb behind red lense is a myth or does it work?

Fuel Sender fitted, bonnet fitted with new rubber beading around edge, fitted an electric fuel pump too so that when we decide to up the power she should have enough fuel. Also went to Vision Impact in bristol and they made us an american flag sticker for the back. - all in keeping with its heritage! Very Happy

Looks like a buggy now! Cool
