PostSubject: Project KARMA`   Fri Aug 01, 2008 8:01 pm

Karma shone on me this week, and here are the results:
1974 1300 last on the road 2004/5.

'Bought' it unseen, so imagine my delight when I opened the doors to find...

Delivered on this ridiculously large yank tank hauler wagen from a guy called Lee who was a sound as a pound hot rodder.

The only bit of welding needed, which won't take me long, and is in a nice easy position

Everywhere else is sound too: (looks worse than it is)

Cant be arsed to load anymore pics up at the mo, going to attach those floors tommorrow.... it's going to be very slow progress (not that the bug needs much, just money etc), but this time next year is the target. Smile

hahaha..... oh dear!

Spent 6hrs cleaning the pans today, managed to remove a carrier bag full of crap/loose rust/underseal off the pans (inner), some muppet had waxoiled them at some point, great idea at the time, but not for me to take it all off again. Good news is though it has protected them fantastically, only 1 pea sized hole in the pan, and 1 repair to the end channel required (couldnt resist digging it out with a 'driver).

Didnt take many pics, just got my head down and cracked on:

This

To this

Soon to be curerusted, red oxided, gloss blacked...

Massive thanks to Kate & Paul, now have a 1300 engine, ready to roll within 10 days I'm hoping... hmm we'll see Wink

haha, yeah its snapped bud. Its on the list.

Last night I painted to pans in cure-rust, which didn't sit well on the underseal reminants but will do the job, and then red oxide on top will do the job nicely.... solvent high was quite fun last night was fun too. Zal came round as I was packing up about 10pm, "you seem a bit down Ol"... "nah I'm just light headed from the sovents mate, (eyes dialated)"... haha... might even have her running by the end of the weekend too! Smile
