make sure you etch prime beforee putting sealer in, then seal it up, and wipe away the excess with panel/spirit wipe, going across the panel gap and this will give you a good panel seal. ready to paint over.

as once its dry you cannot sand the sealer down, as it tears and flakes and makes the joint look horrible.

hope this will help you.

also around the inside of the arch use a panel adhesive and that will save welding the arches together.

Cheers bud, I may have got a bit ahead of my self with the sealant doh lesson learnt for the next.
I want to completely finish the one before I go on to the next as this is the trial and error one.

I'm thinking of using a brush on seam sealant to cover and protect after the etch prim, any recommendations ? Iv used tiger seal on a gun up to know.

my very limited bodywork knowledge... you need to use seam sealer as its silicone free and wont react when paint is applied. (but it is highly flammable as i found once, lol, so make sure all welding is finished).
any panel shop type place will have it. i would brush it on and smooth it with a gloved finger. you could also mask off to give a clean line

you need to get the panels almost prepped for paint, then seal them up using a gun and tiger seal is ok, run sealer into the joint, then get some mutton cloth, and soak it in spirit.panel wipe then wipe the sealer into the joint and clean the excess off with the mutton cloth as you go, this should then give you a nice it of sealer in the joint and keep it clean as well.

if the panel joint is vertical, you need to wipe away horizontal , and keep the cloth soaked and tight.

you will be better taking the sealer out you have put in and re-prep the area again.use a clean and strip wheel for this .

the problem with tiger seal ......is it will crack any paint ...if you want to 'over paint 'it .....seam sealer is best ,but buy it in tubes to go in a silicone gun ......I will only use iger seal to bond panels on now
