ok, after buying myself a nice set of 8x13" Rims, and then getting a prohibition notice from the feds (because the rims stuck out too far), i have decided to build myself a set of these.....

Thats the best thing to do buddy been think of doing to Frizz's golf, i done a mk1 for a customer about 8-10 years ago.. Used a new set of stock arches and just slid them down the standard ones...

exactly!

I will be making them by cutting the original steel arch about 1/2 inch down, (but not all the way to the ends), then pulling the arch out - carefully so it doesnt snap off, then use measured weld rods to space the arch to a desired width, then spot weld them in.
Then plate over the rods and smooth, blend the arches in.

That's EXACTLY where it would all go horribly wrong if I were doing it

I dont have exactly have the most steady hands in the world either! So it should be a laugh!

let us know how it goes i think i may take the plastic off my arches

Also, car sits quite a bit lower now thanks to some Front coilovers!

haha cheers matey. Well the Caddy has gone now to Southampton. but now you will see a Tornado red Mk2 GTI with a VR6 lump under the bonnet where the caddy used to park.

Goof sounds good though - tornado red is a top colour
