| Ha, thanks guys Yeah, a bit of a distance. Sadly I'm not affiliated with a VW any more. Actually I've never technically owned one, but I looked after one for a friend of mine. I stumbled across the club whilst hunting for said car on t'interwebs, incidentally. Some of y'all might be familiar with the car- 1970 H reg Wizard roadster in Yamaha R1 blue, on black Empis. It was a fairly common sight around WsM back in about 2005. The guy who had it sold it and DVLA says it's registered for road use rather than SORN. Was wondering what happened to it, really I ended up getting myself a Renault here in the US. Bizarre. But that's another story altogether. --Phil | |

Only an old one from when it was just out of the bodyshop after being resprayed: Nothing to hand that's more recent, but... it looked like that when it was sold. I think it changed hands in '09... maybe? --Phil

| I left at the end of '06. Thinking about it the last time I had been out and about in XNX was about 2004. My memory for time and dates isn't great. This one was based out of Banwell. XRU came off the road in the middle of '05.
I do remember the 7UP bug. Don't recall the black one though. Might have been about since I left.
And yes, that was my Victor. Would be at McD's parking lot fairly often by the old B&Q.

No, I sold it last Christmas. It was sitting on my folks' driveway and slowly rusting away. Sold it to a guy who reallyreallyreally wanted it, was good with a MIG and was going to sort it out. He gave up and stuck it on eBay, sold it on to someone else for about 8 times what he paid me for it... He's been real cagey about it and I don't know where it is and who has it now --Phil

I remember the satin black one and yes I think it was an Alfa lump, we went to a few shows in the early/mid nineties together. I had a burgundy and green 1302s, another chap Keith used to drive a pale yellow splitty and there was a chap with a T25 with trick suspension that always used to win the sound offs, I seem to recall he used to play the "Bucketheads" a lot. There were others bu my memory is fading.....

| The tricked out T25 has recently been parted out sadly. I remember seeing the carlsson roofed satin black bug but don't remember the Wizard or the Victor.
Nice to have you on board fella, you don't have to be local to be a Sphincter.

I'm not, I'm originally from Congresbury. You may have seen the Wizard and/or the Victor parked up at the really thin bit on West Street. --Phil

Nope, that was the one. Parked up a steep driveway, halfway up where you could see it from the road. Same one. Yamaha R1 Deep purple-blue, or a similar name. --Phil
