I think the 03 is an underrated car.

A slammed 02 looks v cool IMHO.

i am not saying i dislike them, its just if someone is buying there first bug, they need to know about the differant models, otherwise they jump in and sometimes endiing up buying some thing they dont really want. if he was to build a cal looker, an 03 would look totally wrong.

the only thing i would do to an 03 is to german look it.

that doesn't mean anything tbh .... I would bewary of a 1302/3 as they seem to rust more so then any other beetle of that age ......also parts ..like steering boxes ,can be hard to get hold of and very expensive ,that said they do drie the bst out of all the beetle models

very warm welcome btw

my advice ...to you mate

plus's great to drive ......looks good if your into modifying as a german looker

thats it

negatives ....hard to sell (as they are not very desirable)
rust worse than any other beetle ....that said if you get a real good one they are good cars
parts are hard to get hold of
parts can be very expensive
vw snobs (not us) don't consider them to be a proper bug as the suspention a chassis is different ...

great car ......but will never get the street cred it deserves

however if your not worried about street cred and you get a solid one .......best car you will ever own

but i would pay the road tax on a solid car rather than go for one because its tax exempt then pay 5 or 6 times the cost of a tax disc to get it through an MOT.

Yeah that was me paul
Cheers for the advise, going to test drive tomorrow morning now but think im going to take a bit longer to look around rather than dive in.
Better to get a dream car than settle for a quick fix eh?
