So, as you all know, this is our first van... We love her like a fat kid loves cake, and have some (we think) awesome plans for her!

Shes a 1969 British RHD, was a panel, but converted over 30 years ago to a camper, we are the third owners, and she came to us (after a year of trying to convince the old owner to sell to us) completely stock, pretty much totally unwelded, and solid as a rock Wink

We started trying to figure out what we want to do with nanny, we finally decided on (well, I made Kel) go with a 'tiki style' bus..

To test the water before gutting the whole interior, we did this to the door cards;

'Nanny' the 1969 Bay... IMG00093-1

'Nanny' the 1969 Bay... IMG00095-1

We bought a split bamboo fence from the garden centre, unweaved it all from the wire, cut each piece to size and stuck it with grip fill - we thought it rocked, so the battle with bamboo commenced!!!!!

We gutted her (which was MINGING!) and started making the panels to fit, and sticking the bamboo piece. by. piece. Rolling Eyes
Also plyed the floor, and have made everything totally easily removable to do any future bodywork we may have to do Smile

We also decided to go with an aggregate set in resin style floor Cool (this is just the sample tile, the floor is going in this week)

And today we went a bit mental with some rope...

We also bought a flip down tv/dvd, and a super cool retro style pepsi fridge.. will pop some pics of those up soon Wink

Our ultimate goal is to get her like this..

BUT we are happy running her like this til then Wink

Cheers guys Smile

Steering wheel isn't quite as hairy as in the pics after a little messing with.. Plus got the little steering knob thing to make things easier and clamp down the rope, so will see how it goes!

As for the grip fill.. We have got you a few things to bring up! And we now bloody HATE grip fill.. We have been so off our faces on that stuff for weeks!
We will give you a bell in the next couple of days to arrange a time to switch on the kettle Wink

Bit of an update....

Today the flooring is going down!

We have sorted all around the windows inside, and put a few bits on her exterior too.

Next week we are tackling the new heat exchangers, exhaust system and a good ol' service (as she is running like a bag of shite at the moment).

Some pics of our graft for this week...

Thanks! Smile

The final plan is.. rock 'n' roll bed, cream with red piping vinyl upholstery, and getting some units made by Andrew James, which will be sandblasted tulip wood (maybe oak, not 100% yet), flip down tv/dvd, fridge, hob, and a vintage Hawaiian shop sign imported to make the table.. Wink

Obviously, she is also begging to have the living piss beaten out of her with the lowering stick, but this will probably (due to cost) be one of the last things we are able to do, as we want to do it properly!

Anyone have any ideas on how we can fix the flip down tv to the roof? It's going to go between the walk through, it's the sort that people would fix to kitchen units.. We already have a frame there, but its sprung - therefore too much weight will pop it out/down. Will have to put up a pic of both.. it can't be fixed straight to the roof (clearly) because she is a tin top, it did come with brackets, just can't quite figure out how this will work!!

We are going to try and do all the mechanical stuff and get her running this week, so that we can get her out to our mates unit to measure up for the units, and for him to pop in our rock 'n' roll bed....Then over to the upholsterer in Highbridge to get that all measured up too!
Thank god for over time?!

So, it's about time we posted up what's been going on with this beast..

Right now, we are having a trial separation, basically because - shes a fucking bitch.

ahem.

So, previously there was a huge sea of grey carpet in there, which was clearly soaking up all the rain, since we gutted it, and did the new panels etc, we had no idea that the window rubbers had shrank a bit, therefore nanny took up swimming, and ruined pretty much everything we had done. We told her to shut her pie hole (after going mental that it had happened) and gave her some new seals as bribery to stop swimming - along with resealing all of the windows.
No more leaks, and we have worked our arses off to re do everything that was ruined.

We also had the wheels powdercoated red, white wall flaps, chrome domes... got them fitted, drove 2 miles, the lot shredded off, taking tyres with them, and us heading for a brickwall (Nanny's way of telling us she hates her new shoes).
Now waiting to get the right amount of miles on the new (second time round) tyres so we can have them 'done' by someone like mr whitewalls.
Rock 'n' roll bed is in, upholstery all done.. made a kick ass table with a soldering iron, cabinet maker is in the process of beginning our units and we are in the process of buying the leisure battery, split charge etc stuff so we can hook up the lights, tv, and fridge.

Inside is sweet, as right now that's all we can do, as in a protest against her new interior, she refuses to move, and drives like a bag of shit if she does move even if its for a hundred yards.

Will update with lots of pics soon..
