Picked up the front seat from ad77 today, thanks bud, but it isn't as easy as i through it would be to fit so once i have some metal i can mod them to fit.

Yeah Jamo i bit the bullet and through i would give it ago as it never even had the shandard roll bars on it so it's going to make a massive difference i hope!

Well the Tranking was done this afternoon with some help from maltlofe and his old man, and hopefully will be poppin by to get the rollbar and shocks on.

However when on the ramp we notice a 12inch by 0.5 inch section of the rear tyre delaminating!!! how the hell did they miss that on the mot!!

Came home to do some welding on the bug and the van but after getting the welder working and struck the first arc.........and the fuse went. Looked through the manual and it needs to be on a 30amp circuit. Bum lover.

So are there any Electricians out there willing to give up 20mins of there time to get the welder put on a higher amp circuit, Something about using the cooker fuse. This would be saving are skin as we are so far behind on the beetle. Sad

[UPDATE] have checked the fuse in the plug for the welder and it was 3amp, think that may have been my problem!

Right bit of an update as all these photos have been on my phone and i haven't been able to get them off!

Right replaced the two front seat with a bench seat from ady77
Soapbox's 73' Bay DSC00162
Soapbox's 73' Bay DSC00161

Then when i messed about with it i found that they done just slip in to a walkthrough bay so i had to get think. So i desided to weld a piece of steal studing to bottom to lift it up slightly.

Soapbox's 73' Bay DSC00166

Other jobs that where done was the replace ment of the shockers (for beetle rear ones), fitting of a uprated roll bar (as i never had one) and new track rod as the one on it where bent to sin.

Lastly but no least on saturday me and steve went into his work and continued with the inside for the van. I had picked up the real word (american white oak)laminate from a company in clevedon called paneltec. So laying it on to the cabanat that had already been made we glues it on.

I am really falling out of love with how the bay looks from the out side, i was looking through the photo taken by the people at the show coming out of the services and i didn't like it at all!!!

I am racking my brain as what i could do to give it a bit more of a twist or make it to my liking!

A few things like have been thing about......

Lower profile tyres or drop spindles or both

Drop the back down another spline

get new white walls and kerb feelers!

Removing the headlight and fabricating is all in one headlights and indercaters or changing it for small splitty ones.

Removing the eye lids

removing the shinny vw badge and put a white one (or removing completly)

painting the bummers (the only bit never done when it was sprayed)
or
change to early bummer!

Remove spot light

Remove pop-up and get a full lenght rag

deluxe trim?

I Have bitten the bullet and ordered some black plates

but any ideas guys, i am in need of a little inspration! geek

Not at the mo dude....the van is about to get her winter serivce and head to the garage for the 6 months of winter.

i was hoping to have all the changes done for a meet before the end of the year but that hasn't happened due to holidays and other comitments and delayed orders.....

so i am afraid you guys will have to wait 6 months.......or so
