| Its a 1990, 1.9L, Petrol, Manual, Watercooled T25, One previous owner from new, 124,000 miles with service history. The old boy who owned it was very sorry to be selling it, but his wife has mobility problems and could no longer get in and out of the vehicle - luckily for me, he was not a member of DBS - none of his sailing club pals advised him to "slam the fucker". So he listed it in the wrong section on ebay, which Griff cleverly noticed and kindly put in the spotted for sale section - with half an hour to go I noticed it, fired off a couple of quick questions, and bidded. Griff - I owe you, I will be treating you to cider of your choice at the next opportunity Its in its original microbus form, 11 seats, twin sliding doors, (working!). The paint has been touched up hap hazardly, there is some filler in the rear arches, and the cab steps have been repaired. Underneath is solid, I can see no evidence of welding, or shunt damage, and none needed anytime soon touch wood. Headlining is non existant, and some little darlings have pressed their hands and feet into the foam, so it actually, being yellow, looks like an upside-down sandy beach on the roof, without the dog shit and syringes tho Seats/cab area is as expected for a 20yr old bus, but overal im pretty happy. It drove back ok, very quiet, apart from a slight clicking from one of the back brakes which im checking out next week... TBC...

Deal! No rimmage/slammage till I've done the boring stuff first... As soon as I have another 12mths ticket then I'll have a look, cheers for the link to the rims tho scoops. There are some rims that could go on at work, they are nearly new Fondmetals, but they are only 15's, and I don't think it'll look right til its a tad lower... I've taken the first two rows of seats out, been looking at flooring/interior options... | |

| It not due yet (start of april), Im going to give it a once over in the light this weekend, as I havn't really had chance yet, despite having it a week today. I know the exhaust is going, the back brakes are delaminating I'd say, I've had to put 2 tyres on it so far, not the end of the world... Need new seatbelts up front, as they are frayed. I am in saving mode so have to be mindful not spunking money on it just for looks, if it stays ugly for a year so be it | |

| Exhaust link pipe fractured completly earlier in the week, so found a cheap ernst item that looked like it would do the job. All nuts and bolts had rusted to nothing so it was just a case of cutting them off, unfortunatly as is somtimes the case with different makes of parts, things did not line up as planned, I had to cut the backbox straps (seized) to rotate the rear section in order for it to line up, so its rattling and crashing about like a bugger for time being... So I've got this coming hopefully sound a bit better, and last longer than the van! | |

| New exhaust now fitted, super quick delivery from VW Speedshop. Had to fit a shorter oil filter for clearance due to the pipework taking a different route from standard. Plugs/leads/oil change done at same time. Need to fit new engine mounts next, as its moving about a fair bit, which is causing a little knock on startup... Sifting through the receipts I had found a rather large one for a replacement engine amonst other things... After some enquiries with the previous owner and some engine code scrubbing, it turns out that its actually got the 2.1 MV 95bhp motor, running with an earlier pierburg carb, bonus | |
