My T4 sold real quick, a lot quicker than i thought it would, so the replacement had to be found as quick as possible, as it's our daily driver.
We both wanted something a bit more comfortable than a T4, so we decided T5 was the way forward.

After a load of searching found a good deal on the model i wanted, a T30, 1.9 tdi 104bhp (can be chipped to 140bhp) 2005 54 plate.

Got it from Birmingham, off Ultimate transporters,
They had done some work like colour coding and alloys but i wanted a load of changes.

Wanted the windows they had put in tinted black,
wanted the 18" alloys taken off and PX'd for 20" 5 spokes
Lowered 40mm
carpeted in the rear and a Roack and Roll bed that i could put seat belts on to.

As it was but windows tinted:

Wheel change and dropped 40mm:

Side bars:

Carpeted:

Bed, ready for boards ect:

Did a full service on it too:

Got a new double din Pioneer stereo on order and a set of 400watt Vibe 6x9's that are getting connected up thought a Alpine V12 amp, so should sort out the tune's

When i got all the units and bed ad camping gear in, may drop it a little bit more, but want to stay sensible height on this one, as the tyres are about £100 each and dropping = scrubbing out tyres

Nice one dude... Can't wait to see it done..

I can't belive the price of springs for T5's... The adjustable coilovers are a shed load of dollar and will get it down nicely...

They Drive loads nicer dude, and a T5 1.9tdi is more power than the 2.5tdi T4! although not as much torque, until you chip them...

Had the rear seats returned from the local upholstery place ive used in the past.
They did a great job on the seats, doing it exactly as we wanted it all,
Black Faux Leather, with Deep red (to match the van) piping and red stiching

PostSubject: Re: Gone for a young'un   Gone for a young'un EmptySat Feb 20, 2010 4:16 pm

Another busy day today.

Took out the old standard grey board head lining in the back of the van.
Used it as a template on an over sized sheet of 6mm ply, then covered it with a funky fabric, just for something a little different to the norm.

Also got some insulating panels cut in the roof cavity, and ran the electrics for the new LED downlights.
Gone for a young'un P1010233

While we have got the lights in the back, i still wanted a light to come on in the back of the van when the doors are open so hooked up another LED strip in the back that we can turn off if we want when camping.

Gave the rear lights a bit of a change by tinting out the orange of the rear indicators, does flash a bit too rouge for the police's likeing though Laughing
Gone for a young'un P1010231

Even gave the van a good wash off today Smile
Gone for a young'un P1010232

Think thats all we need for now to be camping in luxury..

Next on the list is units for more storage but im well over spent for a few months so that can wait..

Very nice Smile

Some worthwhile but cheap mods are to change the side repeaters for clear ones and the front indicators for chrome bulbs - get rid of the orange Wink

Took the sidebars off and they are on getting shot blacted, powdercoated chrome and laqured!
Also added some little spike details on the wheels and number plate bolts forr added impact.

Got some new units and doors which had to be massively mod'ed to fit int he van, cut round the B piller, scribed to the back of the seasts and notched for fuel filler, got to do worktop and doors this week!
