well where to start Question
the drivers door pillar, not too bad but it is being cut out and having a plate put in cos the welding isnt very good

passenger door pillar

doors

bottom of the drivers door needs panels (inner and outer) cos the bit where the rubber sits in has fell off lol!

then well we took the passenger runner board off so we could weld and we found some proper nasties - someone has welded the heater channel to the floor and its gone rusty and holey so the whole thing is being cut out affraid

and then we found the back wing was a bit rotten so a new one is going on

so then we had to take the wings off so started with the headlights

then the wings came off

the passenger wing was welded to the body at the bottom thanks to a plate so that had to cut off

and then we (dan) had to remove the rest of the wiring

and there was a few crap plates in the wing

plus sides - dad fixed the aerial cos when the cut the hole in the heater channel the missing bit was in there lol!
all the wings besides the one bolt on the passenger side front wing all came out fine Very Happy
and there is only a bit of rust on the drivers side on the seal

so the slot in the top of my big money box is 100% open (all donations welcome) lol!

Its nice to be air cooled again sunny

Looks like you are getting on with it all and getting everything done in one go.
Looking good.
What are your plans once the welding and paint is done?? You planning to run it as a stocker or lowered with rimmage??

no i think your right lucy i had made my mind up about it being a girl and now i have to do both heater exchangers both door pillars both back wings plus a few other plates - cos the plates that we found when we looked round covered about 15,000 other plates so my nice little cheap bug that we all thought was soild is not but all i can do now is get on with having "IT" fixed lol

so its def' a keeper.

will get some pics later cos i havent seen the other side yet
