Hello My name is Richard Gray and I am a long term Aircooled Volkswagen enthusiast. Over the past three years I have, with the help of my friend Richard Smith, set up a workshop near Shepton Mallet. Initially for somewhere to work on our own vehicles but quickly asked to supply parts for other peoples rides. In this time we have been successfully trading in quality secondhand and refurbished parts. We are now looking to compliment this with new parts and restoration sundries (seam sealer, rust inhibitor, primers, sheet steel etc) for the DIY restorer. Our aim is to offer the fellow VW enthusiast the opportunity, locally, to see and buy there parts and accessories, many of which will be held in stock, from a friendly shop and showroom.Honest advice will always on hand. We would be grateful for any feedback on this idea in general and would be particularly interested in hearing which products would be most useful for your club members. Pleas feel free to contact me at stockwoodveedubs@hotmail.co.uk I look forward to hearing from you in the future, Rich

Sounds like an EXCELLENT idea mate, I tend to find most local parts suppliers have no idea when it comes to the older model VW`s. (Shame your based so far away from me though)

Thanks for the feedback so far, Its really spurred us on, we have made some good contacts with suppliers and are really enthusiastic at getting up and running. As you can imagine setting out into own business world can be a little daunting so thanks again. At present our rides are two T25,s, Beetle Convertible, Standard Bug and the T3 Variant (Flame Car). Hopefully we will get along to some club nights as its nice to have a break from working. The Two Blokes from Glastonbury PS impy, dont sell the fastback, just get a razor edge as well

Thanks Steve and fair point, we hope to stock the major range of parts and accessories available for our dubs so from service parts (plugs, leads, brake shoes, etc) to aftermarket products (performance exhausts, lowering, wheels, trim etc) repair panels, engine rebuild parts and so forth. Ideally I am asking people what sort of parts they struggle to get hold of that should otherwise be available with ease. I have had the problem myself over the years where car has been off road too long waiting for insignificant part. Just feel it would be good to have the choice to go and collect part if needed asap. Again, thanks all for feedback

Great idea .... Over size cam and main bearings off the shelf would be good! Every where stocks standard, but gets over sizes mixed up and send the size you don't want... And some sizes have got a 2 week wait! MOT parts (you never know when you'll need an MOT quick! )! Track rod ends can be a nightmare when you need em now... And wash wipe parts/pipes etc. _________________ It's not bodged!.... It's genius engineering, using only what is at hand!!!
