| What do people think about this?? As well as RNLI next year we split the money with SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity). _________________ |

| I have been approached and asked if we would consider supporting Weston Hospice at next years event. My proposal is we make the Hospice and the SANDS our official charities but invite the RNLI to have their fund raising team and stall there on the day. What do you guys think? _________________ |

| I personally dont mind which charities are supported. I think it would be nice to include a local charity whether its hospice or another. Presuming SANDS is not weson based (i really dont know) why not donate the gate money to SANDS and invite the others to do their own fundraising as they are in Weston? or invite all 3 to do fundraising and spilt the gate 3 ways? whichever is done it needs to be seen to be fair to them all |

| Im happy with that. With recent events in the club I think SANDS is an excellent idea. Another one to consider might be the burnham hover craft (I know they are always strapped for cash and always very thankful on there website of donations). _________________ buyer of scrap metal (if I can find metal amoungst the rust! |

| I think 2 is enough as we don't want spread the amountt outtoo thinly. SANDS was chosen for obvious reasons and the local Hosice approached us, with the promise of plenty of marshalls..... _________________ |

| I'll go with the flow but to maximise contributions we need to ensure ALL the cars pay. The end field last year were driving on straight from the road and avoiding the gates. Also need some fit lasses in skimpies walking around shaking their buckets for contributions from the public who come to see the show.... So many possibilities for making more money next year, all should be discussed at a meeting soon... Bear in mind its not actually that far away now. _________________ | Mr Scoops wrote: | | cannot deny that Gooseberry Crumble is lovely. Especially when it's homemade..........by someone else. i think its a good idea but its a shame about the lifeboat ppl though, cos the government are too stupid to support them, but its no good spreading the money too thinly |

| i say it would be better to support the lifeboat and hospice not SANDS as for the last 2 cttp the lifeboat people have been a big help and i think we should continue to support them not sideline them due to unfortunate circumstances that have happened to members of the club in the past year that should not come into it really (i am not trying to belittle the issue but i dont feel we need to press the isue either.) _________________ "a chicken in every pot and a cap in every ass"

| Hey guys, sorry been really slack about being online lately (eeek for the last 3 months or so at least) been a busy bean off forum but lifes all good, still def a big part of the club, still love y'all and cant wait to catch up. Scoops has very kindly posted on my behalf about weston hospice care. I'd be delighted to explain the ways they help, but in essence they shall reach 1100 people and ther families this year (thats 10% of your community helped by us, by default thats someone on YOUR road), chlildre, adults, families all helped. I'll explain more when we start having meetings to organise it- but I'd like to put a strong case together that we support them. I'll happily take care of the charity end again (like last year) but will go with the mass decision on whoever the club chooses to support (I explain things better in person than I do on a public forum) _________________ I dont re read threads if you want me/a reply then pls PM me & I'll get back eventually
