So what needs to be done differently next year??

Sandbags or ramps to make it easier to access the lawns across the access road.
The little Access Roads needs to be closed until 2pm on the day.
Goodie Bags perhaps should be at our club stand and just the program given at the entrance.
Show and Shine information needs to be on the website to explain the format and the times as people weren't opening up and mooching through their bags.

Any more suggestions??

Dad had two suggestions first was that maybe you could have a minium donation of £5 and then he said that alot of people would put a bit more which has to be good. And the other thing he thought was that maybe the money should be took a little bit further next year just to keep the road clearer.

but other than that i think everything was spot on.

Maybe a last meeting might be worth while, before plans start for next year?

£5 per person - maybe £2.50 for kids, would be more than acceptable I think.
Would it be possible for clubs to park together as well ? We managed to save a few spaces for stragglers by strategic parking Laughing but it would be nice if we could have designated club areas.
If you could arrange the sun again for next year that would be great too ! Cool

A couple of my thoughts, i don't mean to be critical though
1) show and shine should be judged by say 10 chosen people, which would be fairer to people, instead of i will vote for my best mate.
2) A small stage with a cleared area so people can see prize giving at a designated time of 3.00pm or 3.30 pm.

3) clearer instructions on times, and a layout on back of programme, eg traders, dbs stand, club parking etc.

4) 2 smaller cruises in one south of weston and 1 north of weston.
with slightly staggered arrival times.

5) if goody bags are going to be retained, i think they should still be given out at the gate, but programme to be not in the bag, and people advised of times at gate.
otherwise the tent will be full of bags and not everyone will get one or some will come back for a second one.

I must comment on how well the day went and i very much enjoyed myself.

well done to everyone, you must be very proud.

On the whole I thought it was a great day Cool but there were a few comments/suggestions made to to me by various people I spoke to

Lack of facilitys.... toilets, grub vans, ice cream vans

Club Parking

A seperate Show n Shine Area

One thing that I noticed was the shear volume of kids that were in attendance and the lack of anything to entertain them..and would personally have the club stand and tent in the middle i.e the other side of the entrance to where we had it

Had a great time and am determine to have finished for next years Laughing

All these are on the seafront over the road. Loads of cafes or restaurants in town as well.

This was pointed out to them but don't think a couple of ice cream/burger vans would have gone a miss....

might even be able to convince them to chip in a percentage of their takings to the charity pot

We can't have burger vans and ice creams vans unless the show is fenced off and is completely pay to enter event.

I reckon there`s more than enough cafes nearby - esp down by the pier.
We ended up in Dragons Kiss anyway Laughing

Burger van at Brean would have been nice though - I was gasping for a cup of tea and a bacon bap Laughing

I thought Brean was a spot on place to start the cruise. And the cruise also seemed to work well.
But I heard a few VW's got lost and were driving around brean looking for us so maybe some signs put up if we are allowed?!?
