What happened with their pricing?? They only had 15 pitches booked was in the reply email i had today but they all behaved themselves so dont know if they will be prepared to offer camping / cruise next year as it didnt bring much custom. When I was saying we were expecting 500 cars made me look like a liar!! LOL!!!
Vanwest are charging £25pp for the weekend but then their show is the whole weekend and they can gurantee people booking to camp!!!!
We only wanted to start from their but advertise them as a place to stay it wasnt really anything to do with us i thought that was the idea??
It was them that offered a discount, i didnt ask!!! The discount was given on their brochure price, unless we do a whole weekend to guarantee lots of people camping they arent gonna offer much less than their brochure price.
just wanted to put forward my opinion as im not gonna be at the meet. |

| I think the comment about mates voting for the ShownShine is wrong, my car came runner up (OK you could argue I was biased!) and I can guarantee that other than Jim afaik no one else I knew voted for Harry. I think the SnS being voted for by everyone was a better and different way of doing it rather than some snooty judge being anal over a bit of shit somewhere in the paint and marking you down. For me CTTP isn't a normal 'show' its a cool cruise and a nice day out, masses of facilities, etc etc would ruin it for me I think, and turn it into just another show |

| the problem with the camping is some people thought it was part of the event and everyone was getting different prices quoted for camping, from £14 to £18 up to £30 for the night!! Don't fret about it, it's just a little niggle iron out for next year, And Harry, nobody was suggesting your votes were ringers dude. Your prize was very well deserved. _________________ |

| i think from the feedback either show n shine should be bined or make it for, furthest traveled, most strangest vw ect ect, when its peoples choice its self voting for them selves and out of 400 peeps say 30 voted, but if we have judges its like harry said it would be a normal show and loose its chill factor _________________ Just because i rock, dosnt mean im made of stone

This is NOT meant about cttp, I had a friend who had a show car , and i also had a car in the past worthy of showing, we attended a large vw show, and it seemed that all the trophys went to the club/group who were all friendly and it came over that they had all voted for there friends cars. I was driving a type 3 at that time and the car was A1, there were 2 other type 3's in the show and everyone who had talked to me through the day had said the type 3 trophy is yours for the taking, in the end it went to another type 3 in a poor condition to mine from the club with a large contingent of cars in the show and shine.
it is not the first time this has been witnessed, about voting for car in shows. I just belive it would take some of the hassle out of the day, there was only 1 vote until 1.00 pm and everyone was getting nervous that the votes would not come.
i just think that if we had 2 people from each of the local clubs, eg dbs, kdc, ovc, bath air, headcrakers, exeter aircooled we could get this arranged and contact owners prior to trophy ceremony. Harry your car was worthy of the trophy, and must have been getting close to winning the heavy weight monster trophy. But the 59 rag as arcane said, i cound'nt belive that no one voted for it.

| All i am saying is 2 sensible people from each club choose there 5 favorite vehicles(dont have to be show cars) in an order of 1 to 5 and the 5 most popular vehicles get a trophy. then prior to trophy presentation , the vehicles selected get a rosette placed on advising they are a winner. this will let them know that tey have a prize of some description. Once rear out at presentaion they are advised in order of votes eg 5 4 3 2 1 etc. andy |

| I think the idea of getting people from each club is a great idea. I think ALL cars should be included, so it is not just show and shine but even the Shat Look boys (Sam & Wurz) could stand a chance. A car doesn't have to be uber-shiny to have had a whole lot of work and effort put into it! _________________ |
