I have got a meeting with the Events team at the council on the 8 May.
We have got some ideas to kick around, but could mean that we get the actual prom to park the cars on and use the lawns for traders and an extreme sports show.
Watch this space!!

You mean the road part?

I'm not good with weston but that sounds cool if it is what i think it is. The show is turning in to quite a big event. Smile

Right. I have already got a tentative Yes from a local band who would be willing to come and play a set for us, and Star FM have also expressed an interest in getting involved.
I am going to set up some sort of timetable for the year to get various stuff sorted by and we can take it from there.
The first job though of course is to hammer out a date.
I will know more after my meeting with the Council.

Star FM have suggested that they may broadcast live from the show next year. Cool

Would be good to keep it the same weekend ie sun after easter weekend. Weather has been good to us so far!! Plus its usually end of schools easter holidays so people are looking for something to do!

It wasn't last year... Then again we did have a very early Easter 23rd March. Easter Sunday next year is the 4th of April.

I need to talk to the council as we can't have the prom itself during school holidays, and the last weekend in April is Big Bang.

Plans for next year include....................

parking the Vee-Dubs/Porkas on the prom itself and using one large lawn for club stands.

Star FM broadcasting from the show on the day.

Running the show alongside a council run event with BMX/skateboarding display teams, possibly brush-boarding also.

We have at least one band willing to come and play.

More info to be on the website regarding 'Peoples choice' with respect to entry and voting.

Our clubstand needs to really stand out too.

We are going to keep the cruise as part of the event.

Arrange a fixed price for camping at Unity Farm and work with them to sort entertainment etc

First things first though, we need to date.

won't sand blowing on the cars be a problem if we park on the prom?...also I take it the public will still be parking opposite the prom as the council won't loose out on parking dosh

When I say the prom I mean the car parking spaces. The council MAY be letting us have them.
As for the sand blowing on the cars, I don't think it is too much to worry about dude?? Did you Ghia get covered on the lawns then??
